An award winning writer, film maker, musician, actress, director and teacher.
Debra Knox has performed extensively with her band in The San Francisco Bay Area at Slims, The Bill Graham Auditorium, The Bottom of the Hill, as well as thousands of clubs and festivals. She has toured NYC, LA and SXSW in Austin Texas.
Debra has performed with and or opened for Joe Satriani, Herbie Hancock, Randy Jackson, The Go Gos, The Dickies, The Bangles and The Temptations to name a few.
Debra has directed theater and musical theater with Berkeley Repertory Theater, The San Francisco Shakespeare Company, and was resident theater director for The City of Pleasanton for 17 years.
She has recorded with top producers, Randy Jackson, Tom Size, Sandy Pearlman, David Kahn and Ken Kessie.
As a screenplay writer and film maker a few of the awards she has won are The California Film Award, The Golden Palm Award, The Beverly Hills Film Festival, The Silver Birch Award, The Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival, The Empire Award for The New York Screenplay Contest, New York States West Field Screenwriters Award, The Santorini Film Festival , The Milan Italy Absurd Film Festival and The Hollywood International Motion Pictures Film Festival.
Debra toured as pianist, vocalist and actress with Clair De Lune Children’s Theater Company performing at thousands of schools. She toured and performed as a children’s performer at thousands of festivals, schools and concert halls.
As well as being a theater actress Debra is also a film actress with films showing world wide in Festivals and online.
With 35 plus years as a music and drama teacher she has mentored thousands of students working through multiple Bay Are Parks and Recreation Programs as well as teaching private lessons in piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, acting, dance and writing. She has held Rock Camps as well as Summer Musical Camps and continues to write, film, perform and teach in The Greater Bay Area.
